Air Emissions Accounts (2008-2022) [AEA_15]

 Updates

30/09/2024

The Air Emissions Accounts present the emissions of CO2, Biomass CO2, CH4, N2O, HFC, PFC, SF6_NF3, SO2, NOx, NH3, NMVOC, CO, PM10, PM2.5 expressed in physical units by economic activity (NACE Rev.2 A64) and by three household consumption categories (heating, transport, other). Emissions accounts are available for the period 2008-2022.

The emissions presented in the Air Emissions Accounts are constructed using the residence principle. This implies totals will differ from the emission inventories totals which are calculated according to the territory principle. According to the residence principle all emissions caused by residents are to be accounted for, regardless of the geographical position of that resident, while emissions according to the territory principle account for all emissions on a specific territory, regardless of the residence of the polluter.
